2019 AZ Tech Summit Recap

invisionAZ was honored to welcome Mark Cuban, prolific entrepreneur, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and host of the hit television show “Shark Tank”, as the keynote speaker at the Third Annual AZ Tech Innovation Summit.  The Summit, which was held in March 2019, built upon the success of previous summits and showcased Arizona technology and trends.  As noted by Jack Selby, Thiel Capital Managing Director and invisionAZ Board Chair, “Arizona’s already best-in-class business environment has positioned the state as a leader in innovation.  invisionAZ is committed to being a catalyst for tech growth.”

In addition to featuring a “Fireside Chat” with Mark Cuban, the Summit welcomed several other noted leaders, including: Arizona Governor Doug Ducey,  Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, Arizona Representative Greg Stanton, University of Arizona President Robert Robbins and Arizona Cardinals President Michael J. Bidwill.

As part of the day long event, the program featured insightful panel discussions on technology trends and included topics such as Arizona’s FinTech Sandbox, investment capital formation in Arizona, HealthTech, Electric Vehicle Technology and Micromobility. 

In addition, Governor Ducey signed into law, legislation enacting Arizona’s PropTech Sandbox.  This legislation was an outcome of discussions held during the Second Annual Tech Innovation Summit (March 2018) and continues to demonstrate that the state of Arizona is leading the nation in innovation, with invisionAZ as a catalyst for continued tech growth. 

The 2019 Summit hosted more than 650 attendees, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, business professionals, venture capitalists and government leaders from Arizona and abroad.
